About Us

Established over fifty years ago by an enthusiastic group of dog trainers, Wolverine Dog Training Club is a volunteer-led club. All of our club officers, instructors, and workers are volunteers, which is why we can offer you an effective group of classes for a reasonable fee. Our members support our class instruction as well as several agility, rally, and obedience shows each year.

WDTC supports various non-profit animal organizations like Paws with a Cause and Leader Dogs for the Blind. We offer free obedience classes for puppies growing up to be Leader Dogs and service dogs. We offer official AKC (American Kennel Club) certification for puppies in the Star Puppy program and for adult dogs in the Canine Good Citizen program.

The WDTC members are dedicated to making our club the best dog training club in the world! Our ability to provide a learning environment and total enjoyment for both dogs and their owners is evident in the success stories of those who have trained with us.

Our Instructors

Wolverine has a stringent list of criteria to become an instructor. Each potential instructor must:

1. attend classes at the club for at least a year

2. serve as an apprentice for one year

3. must demonstrate their ability and knowledge by qualifying in competition for agility, rally, or obedience. Most of our instructors have won titles and awards with multiple dogs in several venues over a period of years. Our instructors include dog show judges and evaluators for Canine Good Citizen and Star Puppy certifications. lf you wish to know more details about a specific instructor, please call the club and ask us! (248-476-8650)

With pride, we can report that most of our students come to us through referrals and we frequently have returning students with their new puppies. Wolverine instructors enjoy teaching both canines and humans and it shows!
