Intermediate Agility
These classes work on improving the dog's confidence and speed on all the obstacles introduced in the Beginners Class. We work on broadening a handler's skills with longer sequencing, complex movements, and basic distance work. Dogs work off-leash and work with increasing jump heights to their full jump height for competition. The contact equipment are slowly raised to regulation height and the dogs must learn to do completely closed weaves and In this class we will start alternating between six weaves to 12 weaves. Advancement to the next class depends on handler and dog working as a team, unassisted performance on the contact obstacles at full height, on the jumps at full height and length, on 12 weave poles, and at a distance from the handler. Dog and handler teams will have to be able to complete these exercises to move into the advanced/show class.
